Working with economic development champions we are able to help independent business owners to crank out creative marketing and storytelling campaigns that are engaging, thriving and highlight the unique and independent businesses that give our small towns their personality and soul.
Our most recent project, Love Northern BC, has nearly 30 communities participating in sharing the local love. Love Northern BC was built in partnership and with funding from Northern Development Initiative Trust, an economic development corporation focused on stimulating economic growth and job creation throughout northern British Columbia. Through this collaborative partnership we helped over 1200 independent entrepreneurs connect with their communities in new, meaningful and profitable ways. Love Northern BC now continues to grow, spreading the love across northern BC as a program run independently by Northern Development.
Small Town Love began in 2011 with the publication of a shopping guide in Quesnel. A true collaborative project, business owners were invited to invest in the project, and received published books to sell. The books contained stories of 50 of the entrepreneurs building Quesnel’s vibrant local economy as well as coupons for the participating businesses. The project was very successful with 2000 shopping guides being sold in just 4 months. A second edition of the guide was published in 2013, with similar success and 100 participating businesses. The first edition of the guide is how the partnership with Northern Development Initiative Trust was sparked, and how the Small Town Love movement all began.
